A simple poster designed to advertise the first No Art Speak magazine issue. Inspired by a linear woodblock print in my collection titled ‘vertical lines’ (2017) by Yoshisuke Funasaka, I’ve always had the desire to produce something quite linear. The poster taking up half of an A3 portrait sheet, netting two posters per sheet, worked well, as it both reduces costs and creates a shape not often seen. To complement the shape, I added a decorative edge with pinking shears, a common sewing tool.
Besides the shape, the poster is quite simple in layout, with equal spacing of objects across the poster where possible, conveying critical information about the issue and a few QR codes for links to both the No Art Speak Instagram and Website
